Stichting4Life gives children in the Kibera slum in Nairobi, Kenya a chance for a better future. Our approach is not about giving money, but about giving opportunities. We give children the chance to go to school and eventually get a job. So that they can create a safe and healthy environment to change their own lives and those of their families.

We believe that all children deserve the chance to break the cycle of poverty. And you can help do just that!

Stichting4Life helps children in the Kibera slum get an education. We provide opportunities for a better future that the children themselves must seize. Education is not the goal, but the means to eventually get a job and build a life.

Breaking the cycle of poverty requires an integrated sustainable approach.

We offer opportunities to motivated children, but do not create dependency by giving money. We believe that we can only improve living conditions in the long term by investing in the children in Kenya. Investing in education alone is insufficient. If children live in poor sanitary conditions at home, do not get enough to eat, are not stimulated or are even mistreated or abused, schooling does not have the desired effect.

Education projects are only successful if the children have a stable home base. That is why we accompany the schools with a social worker. We also involve parents in the education and schooling of their children through information.

In total, the foundation supports over 1,400 people by 2023: children who attend school, teachers and other staff at the schools with paid jobs.

PROJECTS KENYA

Stichting4Life supports children (and indirectly their families) in the slums of Kenya. The families belong to the poorest of the poor with a monthly income of up to € 20. These families are highly motivated and seize every opportunity with both hands. We give them these opportunities for a better future.

Kindergarten

Children who go to school have the future! That is why we think it is important that as many children as possible in the Kibera slum can go to school. To this end, we have set up several initiatives.

Further education

After completing high school education, it is important that these children are able to continue learning. At university or at a vocational school, for example.

Secondary education

After completing elementary school, we offer students the opportunity to continue learning and move on to secondary education. Both for boys and girls.

Employment

Education is not the goal, but the means to help these children find a better future. A future with gainful employment that will help them break the cycle of poverty.
